George has been hang gliding since 1983. He has over 2000 hours in flex-wing gliders, holds a Master rating from the USHPA (United States Hang gliding and Paragliding Association), is a one-time competition hang-glider pilot, and is a current World Record holder.

George is a member and past President of the Sylmar Hang Gliding Association, and a member of the Crestline Soaring Society.
